1. About Us

SriLak Travels is a licensed travel company operating in Sri Lanka. We specialize in creating personalized tour experiences that showcase the beauty and culture of our island nation.

2. Booking and Confirmation

Making a Booking

All bookings must be made by the traveler or an authorized representative. We will send you a confirmation invoice once your booking is processed. Please check all details immediately and notify us of any corrections. Your contract with us begins when we issue your confirmation invoice.

Payment Terms

We offer two convenient payment options for your booking. The Full Payment Option allows you to pay 100% upon booking confirmation, while our Split Payment Option requires 50% upon booking with the balance due 21 days before your arrival. We reserve the right to cancel bookings if payment is not received on time. All prices are quoted in US Dollars for consistency and transparency.

Payment Methods

You can pay via bank transfer, though customers bear any international transfer charges. We also accept credit and debit cards including Visa and MasterCard, with a 3.1% processing fee applied. All payments are processed securely through Commercial Bank of Ceylon, and we do not store your card details for your security and privacy.

3. Changes and Cancellations

Changes to Your Booking

If you need to modify your booking, we charge an amendment fee of USD 100 per change. Additional costs for supplier changes will apply, and while we’ll do our best to accommodate changes, we cannot guarantee availability of alternative arrangements.

Cancellation Policy

Written cancellation notice is required for all cancellations. Cancellation fees are calculated based on the number of days before your travel date and apply as follows: 31-60 days before travel, you will forfeit your deposit only with the remaining balance refunded. For cancellations 21-30 days before travel, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fee. If you cancel 14-20 days before travel, 75% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fee. For cancellations less than 14 days before travel, no refund will be provided for the total tour cost. Please note that airline cancellation fees apply separately according to individual airline policies and will be charged in addition to our cancellation fees.

4. Our Services

What We Provide

Our comprehensive services include customized tour planning and coordination, transportation arrangements, accommodation bookings, professional local guide services, and 24/7 support during your stay to ensure a seamless and memorable experience throughout your journey in Sri Lanka.

Third Party Services

Hotels, restaurants, and activity providers are independent suppliers, and we act as agents for these services. Each supplier operates under their own terms and conditions, and while we carefully select our partners, we cannot directly control third-party service quality. We work diligently to ensure all suppliers meet our standards and will assist with any issues that may arise.

5. Your Responsibilities

Travel Documents

Valid passport and visas are your responsibility to obtain and maintain. You must check entry requirements for Sri Lanka well in advance of your travel dates and ensure all documents remain valid throughout your entire journey, including any transit countries you may pass through.

Health and Safety

You must obtain appropriate travel and medical insurance before your trip. During your stay, you’re expected to follow local laws and customs, and report any issues immediately to us for quick resolution. You remain responsible for all medical expenses arising from illness or accidents during your travels.

Behavior

Respectful behavior is expected at all times during your tour. You will be held liable for any damage caused by negligent or inappropriate behavior. We reserve the right to terminate services immediately for conduct that disrupts other travelers or violates local customs and laws.

6. Complaints and Issues

Reporting Problems

For effective resolution, you must report issues immediately to your guide or our office. Hotel-related issues must be reported within 24 hours of occurrence, and all written complaints must reach us within 48 hours. Problems can only be resolved effectively if they are reported promptly, allowing us to take immediate corrective action.

Resolution Process

We will work closely with suppliers to resolve issues quickly and fairly. Any disputes that remain unresolved after 30 days will be referred to arbitration in Colombo, Sri Lanka, conducted in English under ICC Rules. Our commitment is to address concerns professionally and find satisfactory solutions for all parties involved.

7. Pricing and Changes

Price Changes

Prices may increase after booking due to factors beyond our control, including government tax changes, fuel price increases, exchange rate fluctuations, and supplier cost increases. We will notify you promptly of any price changes and work with you to minimize their impact on your travel plans.

Our Limitations

We provide all information in good faith but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of all details. Website content is provided “as is” without warranties, and we accept no liability for website technical issues or problems with third-party site links. Force majeure events beyond our control may affect services, and we will work to provide suitable alternatives when possible.

8. Liability and Insurance

Our Liability

Our liability is limited to direct costs paid to us for our services. We are not liable for third-party service issues beyond our control and are not responsible for delays or cancellations by suppliers such as airlines, hotels, or other service providers. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment.

Your Protection

We recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical emergencies, and personal effects. You should carefully check that policy terms match your specific travel needs and circumstances. Proper insurance provides peace of mind and financial protection for unforeseen circumstances.

9. Website Usage

Acceptable Use

You must use our website lawfully and respectfully, without interfering with website operation or attempting unauthorized access. You may not copy content without permission, as our trademark and content are protected by intellectual property laws.

Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal information and use it only for booking and service purposes. Payment details are processed securely through our banking partners, and we maintain strict confidentiality of all customer information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

10. General Terms

Age Requirement

Website users must be 18 years or older, or have parental consent for minors. Parents or guardians remain responsible for all bookings made on behalf of minors and any obligations arising from such bookings.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Continued use of our website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend checking for updates before making new bookings.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by Sri Lankan law, and any disputes will be resolved in Sri Lankan courts. The contract language is English, and this version takes precedence over any translations that may be provided for convenience.
